Problem with Gif animations in linux

hi,

I'm trying to create gif animations in my debian linux machine.

I run ferret -gif
and then the script:

set data elbe.3d.nc
let lat=LATC
let lon=LONC
let depth=BATHYMETRY
go remove_logo
shade elev[l=1],lon,lat
set region/k=2
repeat /l=1:2/animate
(shade/LEVELS="(0,1.6,0.02)"/VLIMITS=53.6:54/HLIMITS=8.7:9.6
spm,lon,lat;contour/over/over/LEVELS="(0,30,2)"/VLIMITS=53.6:54/HLIMITS=8.7:9.6
salt,lon,lat; FRAME/file=ETM.gif)

and I get the error:

!-> REPEAT: L=1
XGKS(GIF): Error: GIFresize: metafile contains primitives -- can't
resize
!-> REPEAT: L=2
 **ERROR: invalid command: No open workstations for batch FRAME command
FRAME/file=ETM.gif
Command file, command group, or REPEAT execution aborted

I tried ferret -gif -batch kk.gif
and also FRAME/FORMAT=GIF/file=ETM.gif
and it does not work.

Any idea?? Thanks,

Manuel
If I don't use HLIMITS AND VLIMITS I dont get the resize error.
