FY 1989 Instrumentation, field operations, and data processing for PMEL deep ocean bottom pressure measurements Eble, M.C., F.I. González, D.M. Mattens, and H.B. Milburn NOAA Tech. Memo. ERL PMEL-89, NTIS: PB90-114018, 71 pp (1989) The focus of this report is on the collection and processing of deep-ocean bottom pressure measurements made using the Paroscientific Model 410K-017 digiquartz pressure transducer. The observational program was initiated in 1986 for the purpose of collecting high quality data during the generation, propagation, and coastal runup stages of a tsunamigenic event. Because of its diversity and flexibility, the bottom pressure recorder (BPR) is also an important tool in many other areas of oceanic research, particularly when coupled with other instrumentation.
