November 28-30, 1995
Battelle Seattle Conference Center, Seattle, Washington

Guidance for Session Chairs

This program emphasizes an ecological approach to the role of pollock in the southeastern Bering Sea. Within this context, several scientific and management issues involving varying time and space scales have been identified. These issues are presented in the Charge to Attendees. We would like you to:
  1. Consider these scientific and management issues. Select a subset for discussion in your break-out session, or create your own.
  2. Discuss selected issues in your break-out session.
  3. For each issue, develop and order responses in a logical sequence that would lead to successful combined research at the end of the project.
  4. Present a 20-minute summary of results from your break-out session during the plenary session on the final day of the workshop.
  5. By the close of the workshop, submit a two- to five-page summary that includes a list of conclusions (status of current knowledge) and recommendations (research topics for the project). Word processing services will be available on the second and third (final) days of the workshop.
  6. Coordinate and cooperate with the workshop rapporteur who will produce a Workshop Proceedings.
