ANNOUNCEMENTS

• 1. Project description forms (PDFs) for next year's field season are due to the FOCI Coordinator by 13 July.  See (../../operations/guidance/documents.html) for a copy of the form.

• Ned Cokelet is sailing to Alaska on the GREAT PACIFIC, readying her ADCP operation for the upcoming GLOBEC cruise (July 19 - August 9).  Jeff Napp and Jennifer Lanksbury are aboard the ALPHA HELIX for a GLOBEC processes cruise (July 12-26).  Jay Clark and Destry Wion are participating in the OSHORU MARU cruise that departs Seattle on July 14, arriving in Dutch Harbor on July 28.

• The Bering Sea symposium at the 10th annual PICES meeting has been expanded to a full day on Tuesday, October 9.

• SEBSCC's Synthesis Working Group will meet in the Oceanographer Room at PMEL at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1.  The meeting will end at 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 2.

• There will be a SEBSCC PI meeting in Victoria on Friday, October 12, 2001, in conjunction with the 10th annual PICES meeting. PIs and working group leaders should prepare brief progress reports.  An agenda will be distributed later.

The next FOCI PI meeting will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, 9 August 2001, in the Cloud Chamber (3/2065). Please submit to Allen Macklin, no later than the day before the meeting, agenda items and fax-ready copies of figures or handouts that you intend to present at the meeting. Alternately, presentation materials may be posted on the WWW or e-mailed to remote participants before the meeting.
