NOAA's National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) conducts and supports research, monitoring, assessments, and technical assistance to meet NOAA’s coastal stewardship and management responsibilities. Through a suite of programs under the Competitive Research Program, the NCCOS supports interdisciplinary, multi-year research programs investigating how a range of topics that include harmful algal blooms, sea level rise, hypoxia, ocean acidification, and science to support regional ecosystem management.
