Dr. Feely receives Heinz Award

Dr. Richard Feely, senior scientist and project leader of the PMEL Carbon group, was honored with the Heinz Environmental Award at a ceremony in Washington D.C. on November 15, 2010. The 16th Heinz Awards focused on Global Change and sought nominations for 10 people who are addressing global change in unique, innovative and powerful ways.  Dr. Feely received this prestigious award for his seminal research on the changing ocean chemistry and its impact on marine ecosystems and for ultimately shifting public policy to address this growing issue.

The Heinz Awards are an annual program recognizing outstanding vision and achievement in the arts; public policy; the environment; the human condition; and technology, the economy and employment.
